Fun Times in KC with my Family!

I finally posted all of September!! There are 4 different posts, so scroll down if you want!
These are the fun things we did while they were in town!
We went to a Royals Game!

Here is Samantha going completely ballistic at the attempt of a picture with Slugger! I wish I could upload the video of Sadie running away at even the sight of him!

Samantha

Another trip to the farm! The girls have been telling Grandma and Grandpa all summer about their trips to the farm, so we had to go show them all the fun!

We went to a park to cook tinfoil dinners and marshmallows, and lucked out with this beautiful sunset!

Marshmallows! The girls are a lot more interested in cooking the mallows than eating them!!

I love tinfoil dinners! These were especially delicious, probably because my Mom prepared them! I have such fun memories of going up in the canyon and having these growing up!

Per Jake's suggestion (he is all about our guests experiencing Kansas City's finest attractions) we visited the Federal Reserve. It actually was pretty interesting, I have to admit.

One of the girls other favorite activities is riding the carousel at the mall. So we brought the crew to experience that as well! Sam always picks the zebra, and we are proud of Sadie that she will finally ride her very own horse.

Baby Briggs!
It was so fun to have everyone come out! Can't wait for your next visit!

Nauvoo!

This is a bit backwards...we stopped at Carthage Jail on our way back. This is one of my favorite of the spots we went to. It is truly amazing to realize all that has happened at these sites so long ago! We were so glad we got to make the trip!

My parents and my sister Melodie and her cute little guy Briggs came for a visit to Kansas City and we went on a roadtrip up to visit the church sites in Nauvoo!

The Sunset over the Mississippi was Amazing!

The Circus!!

We took our first family trip to the Circus! I absolutely love how excited the girls get about things now! That must be Samantha's excited face below!!

September 2009

Finally....some pictures of the fun we had in September! The girls really got a kick out of feeding bread to the ducks, so we did it a lot!

This was Daddy's first trip with us to the fun little farm we have in our area. This was so cute...the girls wanted so bad to feed the little goats the bottles, but it totally freaked them out at first, so Jake would hold the bottle and the girls would hold on to his wrist and say "Look! I fed myself a goat!"

Sam getting more brave!

Can't wait to get back there next summer, it is such a fun place and the best part is it is FREE!!

Official Announcement!

Just wanted to announce that we are adding a new edition to our family this coming March!
IT'S A GIRL!!!
WE ARE THRILLED!!!
In other exciting news....I finally did another post!!
Two actually! See below!!

4th of July!

Sam Left, Sadie Right

Samantha Dawn

Sadie Jane

We had a fun 4th! Had a BBQ with friends during the day and then a fun fireworks show that night! We are lucky to live close to a baseball stadium that was doing big fireworks and a concert venue that did a great show also! We were surrounded! The highlight for Sadie was the Cheesy Doritos! And poor Samantha got her first sparkler burn!

On the 3rd we went down to see some fireworks over the Missourri River! This was our attempt at a family photo!

I am so glad this video posted, I tried last time and could not get video to post! I just have to say that the girls love to sing and we sing lots of different songs, so around the 4th of July to switch things up because Old McDonald and Twinkle Star we're getting kind of old, I started singing them some patriotic songs. For some crazy reason they both took to God Bless America, and started requesting it 60 times a day! I am sad that Sadie isn't singing a long very well in this video, because she seems to love it a bit more than Sam. In fact, still to this day it is her pck for her bedtime song every night!

August!

Look at me getting all caught up! Maybe I will even have Halloween posted in November?! These are just some highlights of things we did end of July and August!
The girls got their first purses! We went one night over to an outdoor shopping complex and they went in and picked them out, and then strutted all over the place with them!
It was ADORABLE!
Jake brought us home these flowers, Just Because!
We were all thrilled!

We took a fun trip down to Crown Center, we went to a Lego display and then outside to run through the fountains!

The girls with their cute friend Britt! Samantha is loving it!!

I guess this wasn't a fun hightlight, Poor Sadie! She got her first set of stitches! It is actually pretty comical now to think back to mine and Jake's reaction! This was our first big injury that we have dealt with as parents, and we were both a bit frantic at first! Sadie had climbed up into her booster seat up against the counter top bar and we are thinking she must have stood up and slipped and fell onto Samantha in her booster seat! All of the sudden she is hysterical and Jake runs over to comfort her, we sit her back in her chair and I look over and their is blood running down her shoulder!! She must have sideswiped the edge of the counter with her earlobe and it kind of severed it! Jake laughs at me for calling it severed, but I don't know how else to describe it! There was a big slit in her ear lobe!! So anyways off to the E.R. because of course it was at 9:00 on a Saturday night! It was kind of brutal having to watch her get the stitches! She was trying so hard to be brave! And it was adorable....Samantha started singing her songs to help her feel better! She ended up with 6 stitches, and I honestly think going to the Doctor to get them taken out was probably more traumatic for her than getting them in!!

Fun with friends at this cute little farm we have close by!
Sadie, Amelia, Samantha

The girls with their "boyfriend" Caleb!
We often get asked if these 3 are triplets?!

This was the girl's first parade! These are our cute friends Erika and Alyssa. They are so cute to Sadie and Samantha. And I just have to say in regard to my God Bless America comment earlier that the girls also associate Erika with God Bless America, so that is what they call her! They have just recently shortened it to America.

A fun trip down to Union Station! They have a big indoor train table!
The girls could have watched forever!

I just had to post this because if you can tell, the girls are drenched! We have a shopping complex by our house that has these big fountains, and the girls cannot help themselves! They start out just sticking their hands in it and within seconds they are soaked! They LOVE it!!
